Since 1997 there was only a Reading Room available for the Faculty of Dental Sciences. Then the
Medical Library provided most of the library services for the Dental Staff and students. Initiatives were
taken to convert the Reading Room to a full-fledged Library in July 2008. The library operations were
then automated and the Dental Library became the ninth Library of UoP Library in August 2009. The
new library building was opened at the Faculty of Dental Sciences on the 29th January 2018.
The Dental Library facilitates the members of the academic staff, undergraduates, postgraduates of the
Faculty of Dental Sciences.
The dental library houses the collection of books and journals pertaining to Dentistry. The collection
comprises of about 2950 books and 08 titles of periodicals.
