The strength of the Veterinary Library collection by 2010 is over 6000 volumes mainly on Veterinary Medicine & Animal Sciences and the collection includes monographs, Serials, Theses, Audio –visual materials, Project reports, Bound Periodicals. The library gives open access to the collections. Permanent and quick reference collection of bibliographies, encyclopedias, dictionaries, yearbooks etc. and all other Lending reference materials are lodged at the Reading Area.
Current periodicals are organized by the alphabetical order in the display racks and bound periodicals are available at the reading area.
The Library subscribes to several electronic databases for the use of staff and students of the University. Access is given either through IP address or username/ password. The databases accessed through IP address can be used only within the university network but others can be used outside university premises. The subscribed electronic resources are protected under copyright law and publisher’s license agreements. Some electronic resources are provided by the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP) under the Programme for the Enhancement of Research Information (PERii).
