Inspection Visit of National Archives' Conservationists

According to a request made by the Librarian, a conservationist attached to the Department of National Archives visited the Main Library of the University of Peradeniya. The main purpose of his visit was to examine the physical condition of the palm manuscript collection available in the Library and to inspect the ongoing palm-leaf manuscript preservation process. The officer was highly satisfied with the prevailing physical condition of the materials and the preservation and conservation measures that had been taken by the Library.
